Deadlok Band and Member Bios

Touring throughout Wisconsin and Northern Illinois, Deadlok’s high energy performance features the music of various rock genres from the late-60's to the present time. Their arena rock show will have you dancing and fist pumping to favorites from your past and present.

Combining their love of music and performance, seasoned musicians Brad, Chris, Dave, Kurt and Bob demonstrate night after night the raw power of connecting with an audience and taking them for an exhilarating ride on the “rock and roll train”.

To be clear, there are no egos or prodigies in this band…. Only hard-working, professional performers who love music and are dedicated to their fans but make no mistake about it…. this hard work and professionalism results in one hellava show.

Long live rock and we will see you soon!

Chris Alt- Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar, Drums and Bass

Deadlok’s accomplished frontman and multi-instrumentalist Chris Alt grew up in a musical family as his mother, father, brother, aunts and uncles all made up the band The Plain Folks. The Plain Folks remained an influence in Chris’ life well into his middle teens. He learned many things watching the Plain Folks performances- manly how to entertain a crowd. He started his own band in the basement of his home when he was 12. Chris started out playing drums and quickly moved to the guitar and bass and finally lead vocals in the acclaimed bands Sonic Rush and Red Rain both who opened for their share of national touring acts. His musical influences include Pantera, Motley Crue and Cheap Trick. Chris enjoys playing music, hunting and spending time with his family. His biggest reward in performing live is watching and getting to know the many people and fans that come to each show.

Bob Kappel- Rhythm/Lead Guitar and Vocals

Bob grew up on a steady diet of WLS AM Chicago pop hits being pumped out by the likes of Larry Lujack, John “Records” Landecker and Charlie Van Dyke. Then one day while spinning the dial on his clock radio, Bob flipped the switch from AM to FM and his world was changed forever. The screaming guitars emanating from his speaker both frightened and intrigued him. Bands like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, The Jimi Hendrix Experience and Cream made such an impact that he talked his dad into buying a used Silvertone electric guitar for him to try and as they say, the rest is history. Performing in the Chicago-based bands Ocean and Loco in the late '70s and early '80s, Bob honed his chops and most recently, before Deadlok, was a member of the Madison-based band Crossing Cana. Largely self-taught, Bob counts as his major influences Jimmy Page, Dickey Betts, Terry Kath and Burl Ives. Steeped in the blues and raunchy overdrive, he continues to search for the ultimate tone, struggles to master a Fsus2b5/B chord and yearns for the note the Who sang about in “Free and Easy”.

Dave Radke- Lead/Rhythm Guitar and Vocals

Dave has had a guitar in his hands since the age of 10; taking lessons in school and privately through a local music store. His instructor at the time, talked him into performing in competitions, all of which he received many awards for. But the biggest reward from those competitions for Dave, was not the award its self, but rather the experience of playing in front of people which built up in him a considerable amount of confidence. During this time, Dave also developed a good ear for picking up songs and began to focus more on the music that he wanted to play. Sadly, though, he put off most of his playing in his high school days and never really played much until several years ago.  Legend has it that he performed in front of a group of peers; sitting in with a hired band and enjoyed it so much, he then answered an ad from a band looking for another guitar player. That band was Mysterious Roy. Playing in "Roy" opened up many other playing opportunities with bands and individuals and soon Dave had another project- the legendary Sonic Rush. His performing experiences with Sonic Rush and Mysterious Roy combined with his commitment to playing as well as he can, have made him the outstanding player and performer he is today. Dave’s musical influences have come from his family, many genres of music and numerous artists.
